High Risers in the Big Apple
The Empire State Building & H.E. Ban Ki-moon, UN General Secretary
The UN Global Compact is a corporate social responsibility initiative started by Kofi Annan in 2000. Today, ten years later, the initiative is growing under the wings of the UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon. 8000 world corporations applies to the 10 principles and Maxibit Worldwide is one of the proud members since 2007. As the CEO it is a great honor to be invited to New York to participate in the UNGC 10 year Leaders Summit. I’m also happy to note that Sweden is the major nation sponsor of the event. About 1300 world leaders is present and to my surpise the meeting is very action oriented with 130 round tables discussing practical issues and presenting solutions and commitments putting momentum inte to the UNGC development. At the same time as President Obama opens the G-20 meeting in Toronto, the message from the world corporate leaders of the UNGC Leaders Summit is collected and summarized in New York and on Saturday they will be presented at the G-20 in Toronto. The future for the UNGC and for Global CSR really has improved and now faces a real opportunity of making a major difference in the world. Let’s hope it does. We all need it! I’m looking forward to the work at hand. It’s quite simple really; if we all do it – it gets done!

Christian Ahlberg is CEO at Maxibit WorldwideAB. I was born 1970, the same year Jimi Hendrix died. I started with Maxibit in the company in 1995 as a designer, and since then I've worked in graphic production, sales, shipping and finally CEO. Before working with Maxibit I started a men's fashion store and was self employed for three years and before that been working as a wood shop teatcher for a year and I also studied at the University of Uppsala. I love outdoor activities such as fishing, skiing, water sports, sailing, skating and of course spending time with my family and friends. If it isn't fun it's not worth it! So start showing your teeth in a big smile every day even if you're wearing brases!
