Reduce, Reuse & Recycle

Most of you have seen it in our email footers or red it here on the webpage. The three sustainability principles we work hard to live by.

Continuous Improvement

We are recycling both our products and supplies at the office. As a step to improve this we have picked a small company called Smart Recycling to handle this after it leaves us. We picked them as we know they control the process of recycling rigorously.

We had the founder of Smart Recycling, Jakob Ribbing here yesterday. He was here to ensure we know how to make use of them in order to become even more environmentally friendly.
By using this new company we know that what we separate for recycling doesn’t get mixed up in one big truck, and if we made a mistake separating things it’s not checked by a machine but by actual people. They will come back to us and help us get better at recycling by learning from that.

We also take responsibility for our products that you don’t need anymore, just send them back to us and with a little help from our new friend we will make sure they will be recycled in the best way possible.

Walpurgis Eve and May 1st

On Sweden’s Valborg-Walpurgis Eve on April 30th Swedes are lighting bonfires to mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring. People gather by the light and heat of the fire to listen to choirs performing a number of traditional spring songs. “Valborgsmässoafton” is an ancient custom: It was done to scare off predators before the cattle and sheep were let out to graze but also to protect people against evil spirits believed to be gathering on this very night.

Once the fire dies there’s time for a few hours sleep before it’s time to get ready for the May Day processions and speeches. This is an annual manifestation day of the Swedish labor movement and has been celebrated all around the country since 1890. May Day became an official holiday in Sweden in 1939.

Gripper Tips

Already a great product but there are always room for improvements. Are you using a very thin material and find that it’s slipping. There are a few solutions for example you can use an acrylic coated cloth tape on your own material. This type of tape can be found all over the world.

Our resent discovery is an Embossed Silicon Tape that is available through us. It can be used on the backside of your print or directly on the Gripper profile. Used directly on the Gripper profile it can be used over and over again even if you change graphic often.

The art of transporting a complete exhibition stand …

Now we’re back from Euro Reklama in Poland.

The whole stand used, including 2 exhibition staff, could fit into a Polo. The picture of the stand is taken 16:00. The image of the packed Polo was taken 16:47. HEPP!

Happy Easter – office opening hours

Spring is on its way and here in Sweden we celebrate Easter with chicken, lamb, eggs and of course “påskmust”. Påskmust is so powerful in Swedish traditions it even makes Coke sales go down. Budding birch twigs decorated with fluffy feathers in pastel colours invade our homes together with daffodils and other decorations. Hey we like easter almost as much as Christmas. Merriment is on the menu!

We all indulge ourselves with sweets and the kids dress up as “påskkärring” (Easter hag/ Easter witch) and knock on neighbor’s doors for treats, much like American children do at Halloween. Folklore alleges that witches flew off on broomsticks to dance with the devil at Blåkulla.

Invacare, the worlds largest manufacturer of technical aids recently changed their logo and colour scheme. When they replaced their old roll-ups they discovered a need for a more wider display but that still could be packed into a handcarried bag. The need for a wider format was because of the sizes of their products. Invacare manufacturer everything from a hospital bed to a electric powered wheelchair. The basic roll-up is often not more than 1 meters wide which makes the display to disapear behind their products.

The solution was Scene FoldUp with its 3 m wide format and fabric display. Wide enough to cover the length of a bed and also because the display is made from fabric it can easy be packed into a bag the size of a roll-up. The display can also be connected to one another for creating a great sized backdrop for the trade fair.
